Go Dancer Wins Feature at Hollypark
Chris McCarron unleashed favored Go Dancer in the stretch to win the $45,000 feature race Thursday at Hollywood Park.
Go Dancer finished a length in front of Bold Run, ridden by Laffit Pincay. Ayman, with Gary Stevens aboard, finished another three-quarters of a length back in the mile turf race for horses 3 years old and up.
Carrying 117 pounds, Go Dancer ran the mile in 1.35 4/5 to defeat six rivals and win $24,750, boosting his career earnings to $169,194.
Sent off the odds-on favorite, Go Dancer paid $3.40, $2.80 and $2.20. Bold Run returned $6.20 and $4.20, and Ayman paid $3.20 to show.
Go Dancer held off the early pace and then responded, trailing the leading Ayman by three necks going into the stretch.
Bold Run, carrying 117 pounds, saved ground around the final turn, but it wasn’t enough to beat the charging Go Dancer.
