R. J. Reynolds will stop selling chewing tobacco.
The tobacco company also said it will also stop selling six pipe and rolling tobaccos. It said the plug chews that started the firm in 1875 make up less tan 1% of sales. Mounting criticism from health authorities had nothing to do with the company’s decision to get out of thje smokeless tobacco business Nov. 1, Reynolds spokesman David Fishel said.
