Transfer Pact for Beeline, RTD Buses in Effect

Share

Riders of the Glendale Beeline shuttle and Southern California Rapid Transit District buses can now buy 10-cent transfers good for one-way trips on the other line.

The inter-agency transfer agreement took effect last week, allowing Beeline passengers to make connections on RTD buses at substantial savings. With the 10-cent transfer, Beeline riders can travel farther in Glendale and to such destinations as downtown Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.

Beeline passengers pay 25 cents per ride. Purchase of a transfer would be a savings of 75 cents on the RTD’s 85-cent basic fare. RTD riders save 15 cents when they transfer to the Beeline, which operates along a three-mile route in downtown Glendale. Monthly RTD passes also are honored by the Beeline.

Of the 37 stops on the Beeline’s J-shaped route, 17 are at RTD stops. Many other Beeline stops are within a block of RTD stops.
