Lomita : Garbage Collection Pact

The council approved a three-year garbage-collection contract with John Shubin Inc. The contract specifies that Shubin maintain offices in the city and limit fee increases to once a year unless landfill rates rise by more than 50 cents per ton.

The contract also specifies that the company have a toll-free telephone number for Lomita customers and that the local office be staffed rather than attended only by an answering machine.
