Poway Breaks Into the Top 10

Poway High School, whose tough defense has shut down defending Grossmont League champion Granite Hills (13-7) and defending Eastern League champion Mira Mesa (13-0), moved into The Times’ Top 10 for the first time this week.

The Titans (2-0) are ranked No. 7 this week.

Vista, like Poway a member of the Palomar League, remained No. 1 this week after a 44-21 victory over Madison. On Friday night, Vista (2-0) will take on No. 3-ranked Morse (3-0) at Vista. Morse defeated El Camino, 20-6, last week.
