1,000 Sudan Students Protest Economic Woes
From Reuters
CAIRO —
About 1,000 Sudanese university students clashed with police Monday in Khartoum while demonstrating against rising prices and food shortages, Egypt’s Middle East News Agency reported.
The government has blamed the student riots, which started a week ago, on supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, a fundamentalist organization.
The news agency quoted a local newspaper as saying that 37 students have been arrested and 14 injured during the riots.
