For the second year in row, Anaheim’s Loara High School choir took first place in the Park Newport “Carolfest” Christmas carol singing competition. Prizes in the 17th annual event, held in Newport Beach, were $450 to Loara; $200 each to runners-up Villa Park and Glendale; $100 to third-place Bellflower and $75 to fourth-place Canyon (Anaheim). Choirs from seven other Orange and Los Angeles County high schools also competed.
