In San Francisco, Joan Baez and a dozen or so of her Bay Area musical friends got together this weekend for a Christmas concert to raise money for AIDS sufferers in the Bay Area. Baez was joined by performers ranging from gay choruses to gospel groups to Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir, the nucleus of the Grateful Dead. The show benefitted the AIDS Emergency Fund, an all-volunteer organization providing food, housing, clothing and medical services to people suffering from AIDS.
