Tommy John, veteran left-hander, has signed a one-year contract to remain with the New York Yankees for 1988. John, who went 13-6 with a 4.03 ERA in 1987 and owns a lifetime 277-216 record, will enter the 1988 season as the oldest active player in the majors at age 44.
