The cause of death of a Seattle woman whose body was found in an icy mountain creek north of Santa Clarita was accidental drowning, Bob Dambacher, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, said Monday.

The woman, identified as Joan Sniadoski, 38, was found at 12:40 p.m. Sunday by a passer-by in the 34800 block of Bouquet Canyon Road near where she had parked her car while visiting a friend, officials said. She had last been seen at 8 p.m. Wednesday when she left the friend’s home to walk to her car to resume her vacation traveling, officials said.

Officials said it had not been determined how Sniadoski fell into the creek.
