Arizona State defensive end Pat Taylor and flanker Chris Garrett were suspended Monday “for violating team rules” and will not play in Wednesday night’s Freedom Bowl against the Air Force Academy, the school announced.
Mark Brand, director of media relations, said the infractions were not serious, but would not elaborate.
Taylor, a senior, moved from inside linebacker to defensive end in 1987, finishing ninth on the team in tackles with 47. Garrett, a junior, caught 18 passes for 199 yards and 4 touchdowns.
