Mexico’s budget and planning secretary announced the government will sell off 100 state-owned enterprises next week. Pedro Aspe Armella Aspe called the plan “sales” and not “liquidations” of unprofitable businesses. Aspe explained the sales would form part of government actions to comply with the Economic Solidarity Pact created in December that seeks to stem inflation and to guarantee basic wages for workers. Apse said the sales were already arranged, but declined to identify the enterprises.
