Libyan Defection Told

CAIRO —
A Libyan air force officer split away from a five-helicopter squadron flying to Sudan, landed his craft in southern Egypt and requested asylum, a senior security source said Thursday. The incident was the fourth defection-motivated landing by Libyan military aircraft in Egypt in just over two years.
