Inmate Escapes From Castaic Honor Rancho
An inmate escaped from the Peter J. Pitchess Honor Rancho in Castaic on Sunday by cutting through a chain-link fence, climbing across a barracks roof and scaling a razor-sharp fence, authorities said.
Rodolfo Corona, 21, escaped from the county jail facility between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m., a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. Corona, who was arrested June 1 in Los Angeles, faces robbery charges, Deputy Bill Wehner said.
Corona apparently cut a hole in a chain-link fence in a recreation area, Wehner said. He then climbed across a barracks roof down to another section of the facility and scaled a fence topped with “razor ribbon,” Wehner said.
Corona has brown hair and eyes, is about 5-8, 160 pounds.
