After seven years as chief correspondent for ABC’s “World News Tonight,” Richard Threlkeld, whose contract wasn’t renewed by ABC, is returning to CBS News, for which he previously worked 15 years. Threlkeld, whose wife, Betsy Aaron, is a CBS News correspondent, rejoins CBS on Aug. 28. Threlkeld, 51, had been at ABC news since January, 1982. He will be a CBS national correspondent based in New York City and will report to CBS News Aug. 28. Threlkeld was a leading CBS News correspondent, anchor and bureau chief for 15 years before he joined ABC News.
