A 17-year-old boy was struck in the arm and chest by bullets during a gang-related drive-by shooting at Delano Park in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police said today.

The victim, whose name police declined to release, was walking with three friends on a sidewalk near the corner of Erwin Street and Noble Avenue when the shooting occurred about 8 p.m. Tuesday, Detective Ernie Guzman said. The youth was in stable condition at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, he said.

A car with at least two people in it slowed as it drove by the four teen-agers. Guzman said the driver shouted the name of a gang and a passenger in the back seat fired a gun at least twice at the four youths, striking the victim.
