Moved: Massachusetts First Lady Kitty Dukakis, a recovering alcoholic, was transferred Tuesday to the affective-disorders unit of another hospital, the governor’s office said. Affective disorders, psychiatrists say, include problems such as depression, which Dukakis suffers, according to her doctor. She was moved at 6 a.m. to avoid the media crush that greeted her when she was hospitalized at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Nov. 6 after drinking a small amount of rubbing alcohol.

Like new: Armand Hammer, the 91-year-old chairman of Occidental Petroleum Corp. who had a pacemaker implanted last week, returned to work Tuesday, a spokesman said. “Dr. Hammer is in his office and conducting business as usual,” said Frank Ashley. Hammer was released from UCLA Medical Center on Sunday and conducted business from his home Monday.

Neither Weinberger nor Fergie was hit, but a bag of flour landed near the duchess. The 1,500 protesters denounced Weinberger as a warmonger because of U. S. support for the Contras in Nicaragua.
