NAMES IN THE NEWS : Blacque Honored for 9 Adoptions
Former “Hill Street Blues” television star Taurean Blacque was honored by Los Angeles County supervisors for adopting nine children agencies deemed hard to place.
“I love the kids and they needed homes. I was blessed to do it,” Blacque said Tuesday after accepting a commendation from the board.
Blacque, whose children range from 10 months to 11 years, has become a national advocate for adoptions.
He said after Tuesday’s ceremony that anyone with a home and a job should “open their hearts” to children without parents.
