Escondido
A motorcyclist was killed and a woman was slightly injured in a traffic accident Tuesday on North City Parkway south of Jesmond Dene Road in Escondido, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Paul Campbell, 40, of Escondido was killed in the accident, a CHP spokesman said. Nanci Hunter of San Diego was rescued from her car by after being trapped for an hour. She was treated for minor injuries at Palomar Memorial Hospital and released. The accident occurred at 5:08 p.m. when Hunter, traveling north on North City Parkway, crossed the double yellow lines and hit the motorcyclist head on, the spokesman said.
