PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : Rough Tie for Orange, Sunny Hills Girls

Share

Each team had a player get a yellow card--and one team had its coach ejected from the match--but for all the bruises and scrapes, Orange High School and host Sunny Hills played to a 1-1 tie in a nonleague girls’ soccer match.

Sunny Hills (6-1-2) took a first-half lead when Stacy Thurber scored at the 32-minute mark. Orange (6-2-1) tied the score 55 minutes into the game on Stacey Long’s goal.

Orange Coach Freddy Tapia was ejected at the end of the first half. Tapia was talking to the official after a yellow card was issued to him, and the official then pulled out a red card. Tapia left without argument. Assistant Sabrizio Soto took over for Orange.
