Braniff Chief Replaced: William McGee, president and chief executive of troubled Braniff Inc., was replaced as the airline laid off another 85 employees. Braniff said David R. Murchison, its former general counsel, would replace McGee in those posts. McGee will remain chairman. Braniff said W. Howard Mackinnon, chief financial officer, also resigned. Braniff filed for bankruptcy protection on Sept. 28 and is trying to reorganize as a charter airline. It has reduced its work force from 4,800 to 190.
