Champion to Build Newsprint Recycling Plant: Responding to demand from customers as legislation to force newsprint recycling becomes more prevalent, Champion International Corp. plans to build an $85-million de-inking facility at its Sheldon, Tex., newsprint plant. The company believes that by controlling the quality of its old-newspaper feed stock, it can produce recycled newsprint equal to a virgin product.
