Slaying of Black in Korean Market

Share

Another teen-ager was senselessly murdered in Los Angeles. This time it was one of our classmates, Latasha Harlins. Latasha was in the 9th grade at Westchester High School; she was one of us. It could have been any one of us who was shot, but this time it was Latasha. We would like to know why.

Was Latasha shot and killed because of racial intolerance? Was Latasha shot and killed because there is too little gun control? Was Latasha shot and killed because we don’t get upset enough about murders that happen in South-Central Los Angeles? Why is there an empty desk in her classes? Who can answer our questions?

We, Latasha’s classmates, want her family to know that our thoughts and sympathy are with them. We’re sure that they would like to know why, too. When will this stop?
