San Diego
The San Diego Police Department is looking for a Crime Stoppers tipster who called the night of July 28, 1989, with information about a man now known as a murder suspect, police said.
According to a written statement, the female caller said that she saw a man walking away from a car in which police later found the body of 19-year-old Lina Aldridge.
The caller said the man was clean cut, tall and “looked like a basketball player,” police said. The anonymous woman said she would speak with homicide detectives, but never called back, police said.
The district attorney’s office and homicide investigators would like to speak with the witness. A reward from Crime Stoppers is available in this case. The hot line is 235-TIPS.
