Howard won the Heisman Trophy in a landslide, but his receiving statistics were no better than Mario Bailey’s.
Bailey, Washington’s senior split end from Seattle, caught 62 passes during the regular season for 1,037 yards and 17 touchdowns, setting a school record for receptions and a Pac-10 record for touchdown receptions.
Howard caught 61 passes for 950 yards and 19 touchdowns.
