There Are No Heroics in Promiscuity
I’m beginning to tire of everyone making Magic Johnson a “hero.” Although I admire his courage for coming forward, I do not believe he should be idolized for his promiscuous behavior. Magic is indeed a talented athlete, for which he has been more than adequately compensated. I feel empathy for anyone who has HIV, but a “hero”--I think not.
If a female athlete were in the same circumstances, she would be thought a tramp and probably banished from her sport.
