COUNTYWIDE : New Grand Jury Is Selected

Superior Court officials drew 19 names Monday from 126 nominees for the 1992-93 grand jury, the panel that serves as a city and county government watchdog.

They were nominated by a Municipal or Superior Court judge and will be sworn in June 30. Eleven alternates also were selected.

The new grand jury will serve from July 1 through June 30, 1993. It handles citizen complaints and has the authority to investigate special districts, joint-powers agencies and nonprofit corporations. A separate county grand jury considers indictments in criminal cases.
