Margaret O’Brien to Read From ‘The Secret Garden’
A special outdoor reading and performance from “The Secret Garden” will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Los Angeles State and County Arboretum in Arcadia. The performance celebrates the award-winning Broadway musical’s opening that night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
Margaret O’Brien, the star of MGM’s 1945 film version of “The Secret Garden,” will make a rare public appearance to read selections from the classic children’s novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Lydia Ooghe and Chad Hutchinson, stars of the stage musical, will also perform.
Arboretum admission is $3 for adults; $1.50 for seniors and students; 75 cents for children 5-12 and free for kids under 5.
