Register Executive Takes Job in Colorado
N. Christian Anderson, associate publisher and former editor of the Orange County Register, has agreed to take a job as publisher of the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph, a daily newspaper owned by the Register’s parent company.
The Colorado Springs newspaper, with a daily circulation of 101,000, is the second-largest newspaper owned by Irvine-based Freedom Newspapers Inc.
On July 1, Anderson will replace E. Roy Smith, 68, who is retiring from the Colorado Springs newspaper after a 48-year career at Freedom. David Threshie, publisher of the Register, said no replacement for Anderson will be named immediately.
Since October, 1992, Anderson has served as executive vice president and associate publisher of the Register.
