Summer Pro League Starts at UCI

The Lakers, Clippers and Magic Johnson’s All-Stars will participate in the ASICS Summer Pro basketball league, which begins today at the Bren Center.

Also participating is the United States’ representative for the Goodwill Games. Duke center Cherokee Parks, a former Marina standout, and UCLA’s Tyus Edney are among the best collegiate players in the nation on the Team USA roster.

Doug Christie, Anthony Peeler and George Lynch are scheduled to play for the Lakers. The Lakers play Team USA at 5:15 tonight. Although Johnson will not play for his team in the opener at 7:30 p.m., he is scheduled to play in later games.

Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children younger than 12.
