Small Girl Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Westminster
Police were asking the public for help Saturday night in finding a hit-and-run driver who killed a small girl on 15th Street in front of an apartment complex.
Late Saturday, police identified the girl as 2-year-old Karen Nguyen.
Lewis said the accident occurred at 7:52 p.m. on 15th Street, between Monroe Lane and Newland Street, in an area that includes numerous apartments. Police had few leads Saturday night and appealed to the public for information that might assist investigators in apprehending the driver and locating the vehicle.
Witnesses described the car that hit the girl as a four-door older model, maroon in color, dirty and in poor condition. Lewis said police were not certain if the driver was male or female.
