Weekend Box Office : ‘Forrest Gump’ in Top Spot--Again

In its seven weeks of release “Forrest Gump,” starring Tom Hanks, has been in and out of the No.1 spot three times. This weekend was one of those, as the popular movie replaced “Clear and Present Danger” as the nation’s highest grossing movie. Both films are Paramount Pictures releases. The studio wasn’t so lucky with its new family movie “Andre,” which came in 10th.

Two other new films did not fare well. Hollywood Pictures’ “Color of Night,” starring Bruce Willis, managed only a so-so $6.6-million opening weekend, while Columbia Pictures’ “Blankman” with Damon Wayans did a dismal $3.7 million to plop down in 11th place.
