KOCE Channel 50, Orange County’s public television station, raised about $221,000 with its 12-day summer fund drive, topping the total from last summer’s 10-day drive by about $42,000 and seeing an increase in the number of members and donors from 2,664 to 2,706. To what do station officials attribute this success? Four--count ‘em, four--broadcasts of the “Encore! The Three Tenors,” the televised concert with Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. The drive ended Monday.
