Brawley Wraps Up Tennis Title
Former Newbury Park High and Villanova Prep standout Sean Brawley captured the men’s open singles division of the $30,000 United States Professional Tennis Assn. National Tournament at La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta.
Fifth-seeded Brawley defeated No. 3 R.J. Dunkle of Duluth, Ga., 4-6, 7-6, 6-1. Brawley, 33, played at USC before turning professional. He recently became director of tennis at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo.
