CSUN Reaches Sponsorship Agreement

Share

Pepsi-Cola and Cal State Northridge have reached a working agreement that will be worth $500,000 to the Matador athletic program over the next 10 years.

The agreement will make Pepsi the official soft drink of Northridge’s athletic program and award $50,000 a year for the next 10 years to the school’s sports program.

The bulk of the funds will be used to replace the scoreboards at Northridge’s football-soccer, baseball and softball facilities.

The Matadors’ football-soccer scoreboard is 23 years old and the scoreboards for baseball and softball have been in use for more than 10 years. Pepsi-Cola will receive major signage on all Northridge scoreboards.

“This sponsorship will allow us to begin improving our athletic facilities to the standards expected at the NCAA Division I level,” Northridge Athletic Director Bob Hiegert said.

The sponsorship went into effect Sept. 14.
