PICO RIVERA : Gunman Killed by Deputies After Woman’s 911 Call
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a gunman who confronted his ex-girlfriend and another man before pointing the weapon at the lawman.
The man died at the scene of the 2:45 p.m. shooting in the 5200 block of Paramount Boulevard, said sheriff’s spokesman Rich Erickson.
The gunman apparently followed his former girlfriend and her 66-year-old companion to the home, brandishing a handgun, Erickson said.
The woman called 911 and deputies arrived as the man, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was backing out of the driveway. They ordered him to stop and toss out the weapon, Erickson said.
He pointed the gun at his head, got out of the car and then aimed at the deputies, who shot and killed him, Erickson said.
