Keith O. Boyum, political science professor at Cal State Fullerton, recently won the 1994 Warren E. Burger Award, given by the National Center for State Courts in recognition of his achievements in court management and judicial administration.

Boyum served as editor-in-chief of the Justice System Journal, which promotes understanding between academics and practitioners.

In addition, Boyum is the university’s current Outstanding Professor.

At his Outstanding Professor lecture last month, Boyum emphasized the importance of civic duty and community.

“I think we ought to find some ways to rebuild community,” he said. “We need to make it our agenda to rebuild community as a way of rebuilding confidence and leading a fuller civic life.”
