California Mortgage Service to Add 100 Loan Officer Jobs

Mortgage lender California Mortgage Service said Monday that it plans to add 100 loan officers--three times its current number--partially in response to the improving housing market.

Most of the positions, which pay commission only, will be added in California. The officers will be hired by Sept. 1, the company said.

With the California housing market heating up and interest rates declining, company officials said they felt the time was right.

“Every current indicator leads us to believe that home sales and refinance activity is going to experience a significant increase through the balance of the year,” said Executive Vice President Ron Wilsie.

The company services about $4 billion in residential mortgages. It expects to originate and fund $300 million in home loans this year.
