A 27-year-old Long Beach man pushing a stalled vehicle on the northbound San Diego Freeway was killed Friday morning when a car hit him, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
Alex Bisserup was pushing a sports car toward the Manchester Boulevard exit from the far right lane of the San Diego Freeway shortly before 2:50 a.m. when he was struck, said CHP Officer Armando Clemente.
He died at the scene, Clemente said.
A 25-year-old woman steering the sports car suffered minor injuries and the other driver, a man in his 30s, was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center with facial injuries. The two were not identified.
