Bright Light Broadens Its War on Spamming

Share

Bright Light Technologies, the San Francisco spam-fighting company, will team up with Excite and Juno Online Services to clean up unsolicited commercial e-mail on the Internet. The companies are expected to announce today that Excite and Juno will join the Global Probe Network, a collection of e-mail addresses Bright Light uses to monitor junk e-mail on the Web. The data allows Bright Light to filter so-called spam for Internet service providers, corporations and other customers who operate large-scale computer networks. Sunil Paul, Bright Light’s founder and chief executive, said the new partnerships would increase the number of e-mail addresses in its probe network more than 50%, from about 13 million to about 20 million.
