CYPRESS
The city was recently named a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation, the ninth year Cypress has received the national recognition. To become a Tree City USA, a community must develop a tree board or department, maintain a tree ordinance, develop a comprehensive community forestry program and hold an Arbor Day observance. The program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the Forest Service and the National Assn. of Tree Foresters.
