Crispy Fritters

Panaderia La Fama is taking orders for bunuelos, the big, crisp disks of sugar-sprinkled fried pastry so popular for holiday celebrations through the New Year. Some cooks make a shortcut version by frying flour tortillas, but La Fama makes the proper dough from scratch. Though bunuelos are available all year, it’s advisable to place an advance order if you need a large quantity for a party.
