No, Mr. Bush Wouldn’t Like Fries With That
On a day when President Bush was promoting the benefits of a healthy lifestyle--including a proper diet--here was one of the lunch offerings aboard Air Force One: corned beef sandwiches, steak fries and strawberry cheesecake.
Bush flew from Washington to Orlando on Friday to speak at a political fund-raiser and visit a senior citizen center, where his theme was physical fitness.
“People need to be conscious of their diet. They need to be careful not to be loading up with fatty foods all the time,” he said at the center.
On the flight down, he passed on the corned beef and asked his Air Force steward for an egg salad on toast and a diet Coke, deputy White House press secretary Scott McClellan said.
Others mindful of their intake of fats were offered tuna salad and chicken salad.
