Catholic Church Should Avoid Immigrant Issues
Re “Soto Urges Anaheim to Restore the Trust of Latino Residents,” March 21:
As a disillusioned and nonpracticing Catholic, I am livid that the church once again is sticking its nose into affairs of the state and federal governments. Rather than trying to change the laws of our country, perhaps Bishop [Jaime] Soto should encourage others to obey the laws of our country.
Americans are sick and tired of importing more people who cause the American taxpayer to foot the bills for education and medical treatment. There is absolutely no incentive for these countries to improve conditions and educate their own people if America continues to do the job for them.
