If They Are War Criminals, Try Them
Re “Guantanamo Bay Justice: 3 Hours Behind Closed Doors,” Nov. 7:
Congratulations to Richard Serrano for bringing us some news about the prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay. His story is chilling and an affront to the very concepts of justice and the inalienable rights of people, for which our country stands. If they are war criminals (or that new phrase, “enemy combatants”), they should be tried in open court and, if guilty, sentenced to death or a term in prison. Even the Nazis received that consideration.
