Body of Newborn Found in Trashcan
Police are investigating the death of a newborn girl found in a trashcan.
The body was found Wednesday night in the garbage can outside a home where the mother lived.
Police said the woman, 18, is cooperating with investigators.
Police said the woman apparently gave birth inside her home Wednesday morning, then went to work.
Police said her family went to check on her after noticing blood in the house, then took her to a hospital.
While there, she said she had been raped, and officers were sent to her home.
During the rape investigation, police found the dead full-term baby in a trashcan in the backyard.
A coroner will determine whether the baby was stillborn or born alive.
Test results are expected in two to three weeks.
