What did he say?

Re “Energy bills fuel congressional strife,” July 18

It was nice to see the large photo showing the crowd at Constitution Hall in Washington listening to former Vice President Al Gore and the caption that told us he had proposed sweeping changes to U.S. energy policy.

But search as I tried, I found nothing more printed about what Gore said. Even in the Saturday edition, no mention of the speech appeared.

It would seem to the serious reader that what Gore asserted is of consequence to our country’s future. His recommendations face an uphill battle, largely from those who care little about the problems we face. How can that change if even readers of The Times don’t get a chance to learn what he said?
