Toddler’s death may be homicide
Police said Tuesday they were investigating a toddler’s death by apparent blunt force trauma to the head as a possible homicide.
Paramedics were called Monday night to a home in the 200 block of South Huntington Drive, where they found the lifeless body of 2-year-old Isabelle Garcia, coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey said.
Family members told authorities that one of the toddler’s siblings put the child to bed half an hour before her body was discovered.
Coroner’s investigators who examined the body said they noted bruises and signs of poor nourishment.
