Girl faces hearing in mother’s death
A court hearing is set for Wednesday for a 14-year-old girl suspected in a fatal hammer attack on her mother in their upscale Scripps Ranch home, authorities said.
Rebecca D’Aoust, 56, a school counselor, died Monday, a day after allegedly being attacked by her daughter.
Police have not revealed a possible motive. The district attorney’s office said Tuesday that no decision has been made on whether to seek to have the girl tried as an adult.
