About 200,000 Black & Decker GH1000 Grasshog XP string trimmer/edgers, manufactured in China by Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. of Towson, Md., are being recalled because some parts can come loose and fly out of the tools. This poses a risk of cuts to the user as well as bystanders.
The company recalled the products in July 2007 after receiving more than 700 reports of incidents, including 58 reports of injuries. It has received more than 100 additional injury reports, prompting a new announcement in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

* About 1,800 marble-top plant stands, manufactured in China and imported by Ross Stores Inc. of Pleasanton, Calif., are being recalled because the top can detach from the base. The company has received two reports of this occurring, resulting in people nearby being bruised. The recalled stands were sold at Ross stores around the country between March 2009 and June 2009. * About 1,700 Spalding in-ground basketball hoops, manufactured in China and imported and distributed by Russell Brands of Alexander City, Ala., are being recalled because the base bolts can fail and cause the units to fall.
